'96 Review (Spoiler free)

'96 - 😜Smiley Review 😎

We have seen different treatment of love stories from Gautham Vasudev Menon entangling our mind and nostalgic ones like "Autograph" , "Classmates" but now its the turn of debutant C.Premkumar to strike a chord👌👌👌

Vijay Sethupathi🤩 - He is a raw talent, like uncut diamond, in whichever way director need to polish, he can do it and extract the gem from him, expressions were so natural and superb especially that "Ambala naatu kattai" scene, could have worked on voice modulation, its been long time he is using the same meter, but overall given life to yet another beautiful character🤩🤩🤩

Trisha Krishnan😍 - The applause in theatres (even bigger than for hero) @ intro shows her place in audience heart even at this point of her career, a rounded character after VTV "Jessie", executed brilliantly with her amazing performance and the chemistry with vjs, a fresh pair was just extraordinary😘😘😘

Varsha Bollamma☺ - A cute character as Vjs student, a decent performance from her in the given space🤗🤗🤗

Devadarshini😜 - Given a short space, played it beautifully and did justice to her role✌✌✌

Janagaraj🤪- a very good choice for the role, a nostalgic feel is created automatically on seeing him, done his job perfectly🤝🤝🤝

Murugadoss, Kaali venkat & Perumal😅 - Vjs frnds, even though the scope for them in story  is less, scored well where ever they got a chance, that nostalgic vintage comedy, one liners, fun everything worked out well🤟🤟🤟

Almost 60% of the screen space is for Vjs & Trisha, 30% for Jr. Vjs, Trisha & Devadarshani (a great job from them) , but still the ensemble cast have done a great job and will stay in your heart for long👏👏👏

Written n directed by C. Prem kumar🙏- A cinematographer now in new avatar, every single frame was organic, the story & the characters are not just written n filmed, they are plucked from real life and portrayed to us, soul stirring dialogues, nostalgic scenes, Innocent school romance, everything mixed at right proportion. There is a little lag in screenplay and some clichéd scenes also but for this genre movies that slowness is required to register the emotion to the audience, in total a proper execution 😘😘😘

Music Govind Vasantha🎻 - A Violinist & Co founder of the band Thaikudam Bridge, "Kaadhale Kaadhale" was a chart topper ryt from its release, but the bgm no words to describe - blissed out, music is also a character in this movie travelling throughout creating  nostalgia, goosebumps and bliss, wherever that hook tune comes, audience went berserk and the selection of "Ilayaraja" songs at school time took the feel to next level 💞💞💞

Cinematography, Editing,Choreography, Art, Costumes and all other dept just gave their best to present us this magic, it's easy to say but to recreate that feel of '96 is really a challenge and Kudos to the team for the perfect execution 💗💗💗

Positives 👍: Performance of Cast, Dialogues, Music, Cinematography, proper execution, Nostalgic moments, Romance is not over exaggerated , Heart touching emotinal scenes

Negatives 👎: A little lag in screenplay, a different genre which may not entertain all category of audience

In the title card, they showed "Thanks Nature" & that's it the omnipotent Nature had blessed the team, you can feel it when u watch the movie

Do give a watch at Theatres & be a part of '96 batch reunion 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼 and miss at your own risk😤😤😤

General Audience : 3.5/5
Vjs/Trisha fans : 4.5/5
Family Audience : 3.75/5
Critics : 4/5

Verdict : Hit😊

😜#KS 😎
