Odiyan - 😜Smiley Review😎
The most anticipated malayalam movie ever, the marketing, branding, hype, publicity everything was atop, since the expectation was set at high level, movie failed miserably in satisfying it😔😔😔
Lalettan😍 - Firstly, this is not at all a meaty role for an actor like Mohan Lal😘 but still he did everything perfectly what he was told to, the only place where he failed is believing the director😤, all his efforts(both on & off screen) became futile by the worst making. Clean shave look didn't suited Lalettan at al, many a places his actions and mannerisms looked feministic, don't know whether director was sleeping at that time, overall not a satisfying performance😡😡😡
Manoj Joshi👏 - As Odiyan's "Muthappan, did a neat role, the only character which was made properly in the movie. The chemistry between Lalettan and him worked well, their emotions are properly registered☺☺☺
Manju Warrier👩 - Another fine performance from her eventhough she looks a bit aged, she was so charming in the songs, but the character design was pathetic, still not able to figure out why that love track for her🙄🙄🙄("Macikya, korchu kanji edkate...." this dialogue will be in history for sure)
Prakash Raj🙏 - Worst characterisation in the movie, a great actor is made to a comedian😭director got inspired from serial Mother-in-law fight for his role🤬 bcz most of the times his character is doing the same🤐🤐🤐
Kailash🙂 - Given a decent role and he executed properly😌😌😌
Sana Althaf🤩 - A clichéd character, but in this movie it was a relief as others were too poor, did her job well😊😊😊
Narain🙁 - Only one question to director😠Why his role and what the hell you meant by that😖😖😖
Innocent, Siddique, Nandhu and other ensemble cast did a good job upholding the rustic mood of the story👏👏👏
Director V A Sreekumar Menon🤬 - Really appreciate your caliber in promotion, a commendable job but please don't ever do direction🙏, seems like that's not your cup of tea, movie was not at al engaging and looked like a 1980's story, in whatever way you can kill a movie you had done that so pls🙏, last but not least do your job well and then flaunt, bcz statements made once can't be taken back, audience lost the trust in you😤😤😤
If you meant Lalettan rising from the river is mass, we have seen that in #Narasimham😘 itself, this scene didn't even brought 1/1000th of its goosebumps, but its OK Mr. Menon eventhough u didn't give enough content on movie you just dumped alot for trollers to celebrate😁😁😁
(Everyone knew the secret that your Associate Padma kumar did the better portions of the movie🤫🤫🤫)
Story,Script, Screenplay Hariskrishnan🤨 - Story is excellent for a Mega serial😜, but for a movie, this one is too weak, lagging screenplay, zero high points, above all the 2 major conflicts in the story didn't worked at all -
1. Murder mystery of 2 people - which anybody with common sense knew who did it, but after 15 years only hero realises it 😱😱😱
(Internal conflict) 2. Love track between Lal and Manju - 1000 times shown clichéd one, but in that case why Narain love angle😣😣😣
Music M. Jayachandran😍 - Major stress relief in the movie, his love for shreya ghoshal is proved again, awesome track👌 but "kandoram" song placement is completely out of the box infact unnecessary one and killed the pace of the movie😏😏😏
Background score Sam.CS❤️ - If in any manner audience went berserk its only bcz of the BGM, great work😎😎😎
Peter Hein😪 - One thing audience expected as the major highlight of the movie, but biggest disappointment, first fight was OK but climax fight🤕, like Salim kumar told in one movie, "😂Nothing should be visible, put snow🤣, they want Change😅" that's what editor had done he understood if shown normally, audience wouldn't wait for the end card to leave the theatre, didn't understand anything, only thing clicked is that another Odiyan is 'Motta Rajendran' 😤😤😤
VFX effects😭 - Except Lalettan's intro sequence, other portions didn't worked at al, climax fight became horrible😩😩😩
Cinematography Shaji👌- the best thing in the movie, each frame was awesome, the beauty of Palakkad🤩 is picturised well, lighting and angles also good✌✌✌
Editing, Costumes, Art, DI and other dept did a decent job☺☺☺
As usual Antony Perumbavoor's🤪 cameo and his dialogues brought applause from fans - kind of mandatory nowadays but still enjoyable one😅😅😅(but Mr. Producer you spent 60Cr for this movie, 90% portion is a house, tea shop and hut, hats off🙏)
This story should be approached with a much better VFX, lot of engaging action sequences, high points and mass scenes, other wise as a neatly written impactful classic movie, but unfortunately both are not done here
The major problem for this disaster is director played with the feelings of fans, he boasted at interviews & in reality he had done nothing 🤮🤮🤮
Positives 👍: Cinematography, Music, BGM, Lalettan's climax punch dialogue, Performance of cast
Negatives👎: Rest everything that are not mentioned at positives
Even though Lalettan did a cameo in "Kochunni" , that performance took over the hero NP's character, but in Odiyan even after playing hero role, failed to satisfy the quench😓😓😓
If you like Mohanlal, go with your family, one time tolerable watch, nothing more than that🤗🤗🤗
