Kabali, Kaala & 2.0, even though Superstar😎 movies got released every year, that celebration mode was missing at theatres, of course #2.0👏 is the biggest blockbuster but that was less appealing to B & C centres, but Petta is a complete meal to all class audience, the team just #Rajinified🤩 the audience👍👍👍
Superstar Rajnikanth😎 - What a man🤝, 68 years old but even today, his Swag n Style🤘 is fresh and appealing. Frame by frame he scores in first half✌, experienced a new energy in his mannerisms, attitude, timing humour & action sequences. A complete satisfying performance from the legend🙏🙏🙏
Nawazuddin Siddiqui👌- a single scene is enough for a performer to prove himself, brilliant performance, the subtle variations in character, the cruelty, the vengeance, everything was so good except lip sync, did his job perfectly👌👌👌
Vijay Sethupathi😂 - Did his job decently, but there was nothing special in the role to feed his talent, the character sketch was ok , but not exploited well, towards climax felt a bit clichéd, u will definitely feel sorry for him🤗🤗🤗
Simran🤓 - nothing much to do in the story line, but the chemistry💘 with thalaivar was so breezy to watch, a short but sweet performance😍😍😍
Sasikumar😜 - A small role, in the limited screen space did justice to the role☺☺☺
Bobby simha😅 - Looked charming in the movie,did his job neatly, scored well in his portions especially humour😂😂😂
Trisha😘 - Can be happy that she shared screen with Rajnikanth atleast in one movie, nothing more to say about the character, a filler🤐🤐🤐
Director Mahendran, Malavika Mohanan, Manikandan , Mekha Akash , Naren & a long list of established ensemble is present & everyone did their portions well👏👏👏
Director Karthik Subbaraj🤟 - Hatsoff 👏first of all for the amazing work bcz it's really difficult to direct a Rajni movie( that too at this point of his career) in this young age, the pressure is huge, need to satisfy all the fans & most importantly family audience as its going to be a festive release😉😉😉
Unlike his previous films, this is a complete commercial movie with lot of compromises for the hero to just stand alone,the gist is simple, a clichéd revenge story but it's the Rajni elements that will keep you hooked to the chair, many a characters didn't have a proper closure in the writing, they just comes and vanishes and since they are portrayed by established actors, felt like characters are not utilised properly😕😕😕
As promised, he just brought that 90's vintage Rajni back, each frame was sculpted for him, the build ups, punch dialogues, romance, mass scenes, everything worked out well in the first half❤️❤️❤️ when the flash back opens up in second half, the movie drops in to a template revenge drama
The twist at climax also may not work for all kind of audience 🤓🤓🤓
Music Anirudh🤩 - Fantabulous bgm which just elevated the mass scenes to its peak, music alone will give you goosebumps & the track "Marana mass", one hell of a song which triggered the celebrations at theatres🕺🏻💃🏼
DOP Thiru🙏, one of the best camera works for a commercial movie, whatever the fact, Rajni sir is aged so even if some angles goes wrong, it would not be pleasing, but he was just perfect, the lighting, angles, silhouette, snow effects, color combinations everything looked cool & catchy. Signature cynosure shots, Shot divisions for songs, vintage portions and action sequences is also commendable😊😊😊
Action Peter Hein💪🏼 - A well choreographed action sequence giving respect to the age of Rajni sir, felt unique & stylish, the portion with nunchucks(Bruce Lee) was simply superb😍😍😍
Editing, Costumes, Art, Choreography, VFX, Make up and every other dept did a brilliant job giving a quality visual product🤩🤩🤩
Positives 👍: Rajnikanth performance, Racy fun filled first half, Music, Cinematography, Mass moments, Punch dialogues
Negatives 👎: Clichéd revenge flashback, character design of supporting cast
After Sivaji😍, there wasn't any pucca festive commercial movie from Rajnikanth,after a set back in kabali & kaala the fans were waiting for such kind of larger than life character from him and petta completely quenched their thirst, just #Rajinified😎, another jackpot for producer #Sun pictures👏👏👏
