The hatrick collaboration between Atlee and Thalapathy Vijay after 'Theri' & 'Mersal', expectations were so high and when trailer released, it went to a peak, eventhough Bigil(whistle) 🥳 doesn't give a whole hearted experience, it still reverberates loud
Vijay🔥 - Always blamed for not attempting fresh roles with scope for performance , but in this movie within the commercial angle he pulled off a retired Don kind of role "Rayappan🤩", performance was so convincing from costumes to voice modulation to mannerism - absolute bliss and no doubt Rayappan will be one of fav characters of Vijay.
As son Micheal😍 once again a clinical execution of what he is capable of - a complete package of action, comedy, sentiments, dance, mass, swag. What all things audience expect from an Entertainer, Thalapathy had delivered it 200%✌✌✌
Nayanthara💘 - Given a decent screen space, since the love track is weak, she couldn't save those portions with her charm n style but in second half 2 3 scenes, her performance and dialogues give a tug at your heartstrings❤❤❤
Women's team🥰 - The casting was so superb and their performance is one of the major highlight of the movie especially Reba Monica John, Varsha bollama, Amrita Iyer, Induja and Robo shankar's daughter🔥 each one given a good back story and their emotions are registered in depth and picturised so beautifully creating a good connect to audience, really proved they are "Singappenns" 🤟🤟🤟
Kathir😭 - A decent performance in the very little space given, could have given a better role apart from this template friend role🤘🤘🤘
Yogi babu😅, Anand raj🤣& Vivek😂 - Jokes and counters works out well at some areas but not a laughter riot like in Atlee's previous movies 'Raja Rani' & 'Theri'🤗🤗🤗
Jackie Shroff, Daniel Balaji, Vijayan 🤨 - Can't be said as Villians but a cameo villians, everyone did justice to their role but their portions are not so strong or have a depth in the story, so when hero wins them that goosebumps overload is not created, but still Vijay swag & Atlee grandeur cover it up giving berserk theatre moments especially the police station sequence🥳
A huge list of established actors in the ensemble as it is a big budget big hero movie and everyone does a fair job👏👏👏
Director Atlee😎 - A general acquisition is there that his works are heavily inspired from old classic movies, Bigil also have heavy Ulaganayagan Kamal Hassan reference from Nayagan, Devar Magan, Vettaiyadu Vilayadu, even his Big Boss dialogue🤣😅😂
Whatsoever Atlee is strong in his staging, picturisation, colorful making and keeps audience engaged with that magic, but here may be its too difficult task for him to satisfy everyone as its a sports genre plus mass commercial movie. The synchronization of the gangster story in to football isn't that smooth and felt bit lengthy and dull at some points as so many things are shown in movie but in a shallow manner😬😬😬
Rom-com had never failed for Atlee, but in this one that portion didn't worked well, eventhough Nayanz and Vijay shines as a dream couple their chennai slang or dialogues nothing gives the desired impact😞
But still the intro scenes, pre interval block, entire second half Atlee just keeps the audience tied to the seat with his state of the art making and grandeur shots🤩🤩🤩definitely the mass scenes will impress Vijay fans very much, also the emotional & motivational scenes will hit the right chords with women😇😇😇
Music AR Rahman🙏 - 'Singappenne' & 'Verithanam' song, I don't think anyone would be on the seats, really a berserk moment, 'Maadhare' song was so beautiful (Chinamayi's rendering) and elevated the emotion of that scene😘
Bgm and track name got the same name #verithanam🔥- goosebumps overload at many mass scenes only bcz of music❤❤❤
Camera GK Vishnu💪🏼 - Atlee 's biggest asset from the start of his career, a phenomenal work in Mersal and in Bigil also he gives an outstanding work infact a notch higher but since lot of VFX is there and it's a bit patchy, his work may not receive the desired applause but to be honest cinematography is the backbone of this movie, the intro shots, songs everything was so so rich and colorful, the shots, angles, color tone - fantastic especailly action sequences, really "vera level" work😎😎😎
Editor Antony☺ - Really feeling sorry for this guy, he would have put his body n soul to it to cut down a 6 hrs movie to 3 hrs movie, first half and second half is not that coherent so it's a challenging job for him to blend it well, also story moves in non linear manner, should keep a mandatory time for matches to build the mood, decent time for action sequences, mass scenes and songs🥵nothing to say an insane level work😌😌😌
Action ANL Arasu👊 - 4 to 5 action sequences are there in the movie, all are choreographed well but the best ones would be Rayappan's intro fight, bridge bike fight and railway station fight, as usual a stunning job from him😉😉😉
Costumes, Art, Dance Choreography, Make up, Sports Choreography and every other technical and non technical dept did a great job delivering a quality visual product🤝🤝🤝
The challenge with making a sports movie is audience already knows the pattern and result, obviously hero's team will win the match irrespective of all the odds even if it comes to a penalty, so that drama or build ups won't work, you have to do something extra, give a new angle to that clichéd scene to make it more interesting and gripping, Atlee delivers a beautiful emotional angle to that which makes audience applause for each goal but the problem is they just touched upon everything but nothing in detail for eg.coaching Vijay gives training only in the song, the thrills in the game, tactics during the game, nothing is focused upon the story just flows passing all these elements, more over story speaks loud of the emotional connect and mass moments rather than sports drama.
Overall, the Vijay swag and Atlee's vision makes an ordinary story (which has a few inspirations) to a pucca celebrative family entertainer, go watch with your family especially women, a paisa vasool🤩🤩🤩
